Many of Tincan’s programs include video production.

Students FilmingMaking a quality video is much more than pointing a camera and shooting what you see. We teach participants in our workshops the process necessary to make quality videos. The participants learn the importance of storyboarding the video and using good lighting. They also learn different techniques in filming such as the angle of the shot and how to get good sound. Participants use industry-level software to edit their films. While Tincan’s video programs have traditionally focused on youth, we have begun to increase our video production offerings for adult learners.

The participating teens will work with Tincan staff and local film professionals during the summer and over the course of the school year to craft the 20-30 minute film that focuses on two brothers who deal with the harsh realities of being poor.
